October got off to a great start with two wins at WOFFF ( The Women Over 50 Film Festival ) last weekend. It was such a pleasure to be part of a festival I feel is doing an incredible and much needed job of promoting the talents of older women in film, both in front of and behind the camera. A Moment To Move screened and received accolades for both Best Drama and Audience Choice awards. The judging panel had this to say:
"A delicate portrait of the older generation feeling invisible and trapped. A moment of freedom and anonymity give us the joyous insight into our heroine's true self. Beautifully understated with an uplifting denouement. We loved it."
Percussionists Zands Duggan & Louise Anna Duggan have been composing and recording for my next short film - Abandon. Having worked together on three films it's great to be collaborating with them once again. A busy and exciting first week in October with lots more to come...
